About the Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping our site running smoothly by carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance on a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment.
You'll work alongside an experienced maintenance team who will support your development while helping you gain exposure to a broad range of equipment and systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Responding to equipment breakdowns and faults, helping to identify and resolve issues safely and efficiently.
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Working on a variety of site equipment, including conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, and plant utilities.
Supporting the maintenance and monitoring of our coldstore equipment to ensure operational performance.
Collaborating with colleagues across the operation to troubleshoot problems and keep the facility moving.
Contributing ideas to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance processes.
Recording maintenance activities and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
You'll spend some time working in our temperature-controlled environment at approximately -18°C, but we'll provide all the specialist PPE needed to keep you comfortable and safe.
There will also be occasions where you'll work at height using ladders and access equipment.
Who We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from people who have a maintenance background and a willingness to learn, even if you don't meet every requirement below.
Essential
A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, or equivalent).
A genuine interest in maintenance engineering and fault finding.
Good practical problem-solving skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new equipment and systems.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable (But Not Essential)
Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role.
Experience of working within manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, food production, FMCG, facilities maintenance, automotive, distribution, or other maintenance environments.
Mechanical maintenance knowledge.
Experience with refrigeration, conveyors, cranes, automated systems, or mobile racking.
Knowledge of health and safety practices within an operational environment.
