Full job description

Office Administrator

Burton & Sons Construction Services Limited is a growing plumbing and heating company based at Wrest Park in Silsoe. We are looking for a proactive, organised and friendly Office Administrator to join our busy office team.

This is a fast-paced and varied role, supporting our Operations Manager with the day-to-day administration and running of our plumbing and heating contracts.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Making and receiving telephone calls
Responding to emails and customer enquiries
Liaising with customers, clients, engineers and suppliers
Updating spreadsheets and company records
Ordering parts and materials
Assisting the Operations Manager with day-to-day administration
Handling customer queries and complaints professionally
Maintaining accurate records and databases
General office administration and support

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and professional, with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

Previous office or administrative experience is required for this position.

You should be:

Experienced in working within a fast-paced office environment
Confident speaking to customers and clients on the telephone
Comfortable dealing with queries and complaints
Able to communicate clearly and professionally by email
Highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload
Competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and email
Comfortable updating spreadsheets and maintaining accurate records
Confident using databases and computer-based systems
Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities

Full training will be provided on our in-house systems. Previous experience within the plumbing and heating industry is not required.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
During busier periods, weekend working will be required, typically one weekend per month, in addition to the normal Monday–Friday working week.
