Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our groundworks and construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, surveying, quality control, and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.

The role involves working closely with site managers, subcontractors, and clients on a range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out setting out for foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs, paving, and external works.
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with design and technical standards.
Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records of levels and measurements.
Liaise with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and design teams.
Monitor site progress and report on engineering and technical matters.
Ensure health & safety regulations and company procedures are followed at all times.
Assist with quality assurance inspections and snagging works.
Coordinate materials, plant, and labour requirements with the site team.
Produce as-built drawings and site documentation.
Identify and resolve technical issues on site efficiently.
Support project delivery to programme deadlines and budget targets.

Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other CAD or GIS software for system design and schematics development.
Strong understanding of project management principles within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
Solid knowledge of land surveying techniques using modern equipment and software tools like Land Surveying systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
Competence in using Mathcad or similar tools for calculations related to structural or system design.
Experience with construction processes, site supervision, and safety protocols.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
Effective communication skills for liaising with team members, clients, contractors, and stakeholders. This role offers a dynamic environment where technical expertise meets practical application on real-world projects. Candidates should be organised self-starters with a passion for civil engineering innovation and sustainable development. All positions are paid accordingly for the value brought to our team.
