Salary: A competitive salary from £47,680 – £71,520 depending on the experience you can bring

We are now looking for an Android Developer to join our Mylo team to help continue building and improving our market leading Android app. Working with others to build, test and run the application and associated pipelines, you will have experience of building Android applications and be ready to use your experience to rapidly develop and iterate our app.
Working closely with our Lead Android Developer and broader product team, you will contribute with assessment of viability, and feasibility of product features and own the development of specific product features in the Android environment. You will be responsible for the testing of the application as we build automated test pipelines into the technology stack.
Key Responsibilities include:

Following industry standard mobile architecture patterns in all development activities.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design solutions, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Implementing and maintaining a strong testing framework to ensure the reliability and quality of developed mobile applications.

Owning the end-to-end development lifecycle of the mobile application which includes building, testing, packaging and deploying.

Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, collaborating with team members to find optimal solutions.

Participating in the agile development process, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Solid experience in Android development.
-
Extensive knowledge and experience in Kotlin with best practices. Experience in Java is beneficial; however, your primary skill should be Kotlin.

Proficiency in integrating third-party APIs and understanding networking concepts, including RESTful services and handling JSON/XML.

Knowledge and experience of different testing phases in Android applications which includes unit testing, end-to-end testing and visual regression testing.

Ability to find performance bottlenecks and implement optimisations.

Deep understanding and experience working with Android SDK. This includes knowledge on fundamentals of Android development such App Components and Lifecycle, Permissions System and usage of Jetpack libraries.

Experience in implementing UI for different Android screen sizes, having knowledge implementing components to adhere to a design system is beneficial.
