Overview
As Enspec continues to grow, the Business Systems & Data Manager will play a critical role in developing the systems, reporting, automation, and data infrastructure that support the business.
This is a 12-month fixed-term project role created to accelerate Enspec’s digital transformation, improve reporting capability, strengthen data visibility, and ensure our business systems are scalable and fit for future growth.
The role will focus heavily on the development and optimisation of our ERP/CRM system, business reporting, dashboards, automation, and cross-department process improvement. Working closely with the Senior IT Manager and department leaders, the successful candidate will deliver strategic systems projects that improve efficiency, decision-making, and operational visibility across the organisation.
While initially offered as a fixed-term project role, there may be potential for a permanent opportunity subject to business requirements and successful delivery.
The Role
Business Systems Development & Optimisation
- Lead the delivery of Enspec’s business systems improvement programme, ensuring systems, reporting, and workflows support current and future business requirements.
- Act as the business owner for reporting, dashboards, workflow automation, and systems optimisation within our ERP system.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of systems across all departments.
- Support the implementation of new functionality, workflows, and system enhancements.
- Work with department leaders to identify inefficiencies and translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.
Reporting, Dashboards & Business Intelligence
- Own the development and maintenance of business-critical dashboards and reporting tools.
- Design and implement a consistent reporting framework across the organisation.
- Establish operational and strategic dashboards that provide meaningful, real-time visibility.
- Improve KPI tracking, operational reporting, and business performance visibility.
- Establish reporting standards and governance to ensure consistency and confidence in business data.
Automation & Technical Development
- Develop internal tools, automations, and workflow solutions that improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Support ERP customisation, enhancement, and integration projects.
- Build and maintain API integrations between our different systems.
- Identify opportunities to utilise AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve business performance.
- Reduce manual processes through systems optimisation and automation.
Data Governance & Quality
- Improve data quality, ownership, and governance across business systems.
- Establish best practices for data management, reporting, and KPI tracking.
- Ensure business-critical information is accurate, accessible, and reliable.
- Support decision-making through meaningful data analysis and insight.
Project Delivery & Change Management
- Lead delivery of Enspec’s business systems transformation roadmap.
- Prioritise and deliver reporting, automation, integration, and process improvement projects.
- Manage projects from requirements gathering through to implementation and adoption.
- Ensure solutions are effectively adopted through training, documentation, and change management.
- Track and communicate project progress, risks, and benefits to leadership teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in business systems, ERP platforms, reporting, software development, or business intelligence roles.
- Experience working with Odoo or similar ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and API integrations.
- Experience developing dashboards using Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of databases, reporting architecture, automation, and business systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable
- Experience delivering ERP transformation or business systems improvement projects.
- Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, consultancy, or technical environments.
- Experience improving reporting and operational visibility through ERP systems.
- Experience with AI tools, automation platforms, or low-code development tools.
- Knowledge of systems integration and digital transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to ISO 27001 environments and information management principles.

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
