Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team! In this energetic role, you will be a vital leader in the kitchen, inspiring excellence in food preparation, ensuring top-notch food safety standards, and managing daily kitchen operations. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary career within a lively hospitality setting. The hotel offers conference & banqueting for up to 350 covers within our stunning Ballroom and up to 160 covers in our new Seaton Suite. The Hotel Restaurant is a very popular lunch and Afternoon Tea venue alongside the Bar offering a Bar menu popular with both residents and locals.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food production and presentation.
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency to meet menu specifications.
Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage to minimize waste.
Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene practices throughout the kitchen to guarantee a safe dining environment.
Coordinate with serving staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and exceptional guest service.
Lead by example in team management, fostering a positive work atmosphere that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experience

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
Extensive kitchen experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams effectively.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
Previous restaurant experience that includes serving guests and handling high-volume service periods.
Familiarity with food production processes and maintaining quality control standards.
Strong communication skills combined with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
