Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate/l will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the creation of outstanding dishes in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicantwill be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation, ensuring smooth daily operations and supporting the Head Chef in all culinary activities.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in all dishes
Support the development of menus, recipes, and presentation styles in collaboration with the Head Chef
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage inventory control
Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching to existing staff
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
Assist in serving guests when required, providing excellent hospitality service

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality establishment is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Passionate about culinary arts with a commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences
