Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a deep understanding of food safety and hospitality. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in food production and preparation while supervising kitchen staff to ensure high standards, with input to our seasonal changing menu as well as coming up with new and exciting daily specials

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production and presentation.
Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Collaborate with team members to create an enjoyable dining experience for guests.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality before serving.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for cooking and hospitality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the capability to multitask effectively in the kitchen.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
