Our new Peter Rabbit Café in Bowness is up and running and serving great food in an amazing venue. Due to its popularity, we are now looking for an additional Chef to join our team. The Café is open daily from 10.00am - 4.00pm so this is a chef position that really does provide a work/life balance. Say goodbye to split shifts and anti -social hours!

Overview

The chef is responsible for the smooth, efficient & safe day to day operation of the Kitchen and all aspects of the kitchen to ensure optimum customer satisfaction, along with the catering team.

Responsible to Catering Manager, Chief Operating Officer & Directors
Responsible for the Kitchen Staff & Customer service within the café environment.

Job details

An opportunity has arisen to join the catering team at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness on Windermere. We are looking for an experienced Chef to assist our Catering Manager with daily running of our new Café and delivery of a new seasonal innovative menu using locally sourced produce.

You will be responsible for ensuring all team members are maintaining and upholding food hygiene standards across the business, mentoring and guiding the kitchen team and covering shifts where appropriate. You will working alongside the Catering Manager to produce cost-effective and accurate specification for our extensive menu.

The successful Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years or more professional kitchen experience, an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in catering and hold a level 2 or higher in food hygiene (or willing to work towards getting your level 2). In addition, you will need to be able to demonstrable work knowledge of HACCP and COSHH and have an understanding of the better food business diary.

Please note that we operate within standard retail hours which includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

Duties Include

Ordering stock for the Kitchen & Café and checking receipt of the stock.

Liaising with the FOH Supervisor / Catering Manager during hand over periods & ensuring standards are maintained.

Liaising with the Catering team on Catering issues as required.

Liaising with the Catering Manager & Marketing Manager to develop promotions and initiatives to increase visitors and sales in the café.

Administration of checking invoices, non-food orders, and other duties in liaison with the Catering Manager.

Job Type: Full time Permanent position. We do not offer live in accomodation.

Schedule: Day shifts (occasional evening work on special events) Monday – Sunday
37-40 hours week

Pay: Salary Dependant on experience.
