About the role

Step into the role of Specialist Paramedic with the Isle of Man Ambulance Service, blending urgent care with advanced critical care in one of the most unique healthcare environments in the British Isles. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise with real autonomy, working across a small island where your clinical decisions genuinely shape patient outcomes and where you’ll be recognised as a clinical leader. The ‘See & Treat’ project aims to enhance the patient experience by enabling patients to receive more treatment in their own home and reducing unnecessary Emergency Department attendances.

This role is ideal for an ambitious Specialist Paramedic (Primary & Urgent Care) who wants to broaden their scope across both specialties. You’ll practise in diverse and unconventional settings, from remote coastal locations to the side of a racecourse. You'll deliver highlevel assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and critical care interventions while helping drive an evolving transformation programme. If you’re an experienced specialist practitioner looking for a new challenge, this role offers the chance to apply your skills, influence system-wide change, and experience a style of practice that goes far beyond the ordinary.

If you are successfully shortlisted, there will be an assessment centre held on the Isle of Man on 3 September 2026 (08:00 17:00). Due to the nature of the assessments, we are unable to offer remote assessments. In person attendance is mandatory.

Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and signposting on a wide range of issues.

Accommodation may be available for the first 6 months in your role at a reduced rate for non-Island residents, subject to availability.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.
