The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Engineering Manager to lead our Quality Engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality leader who is passionate about continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, new product introduction (NPI), and developing high-performing teams. You will play a key role in ensuring our products, processes, and systems consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements while driving quality excellence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the Quality Engineering team.
- Driving a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
- Managing customer complaints and ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Leading 8D investigations and root cause analysis activities.
- Managing Quality KPIs and reporting on departmental performance.
- Supporting and qualifying New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Managing part qualification activities for NPI and engineering changes.
- Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and ISO management systems.
- Working collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Leading team appraisals, coaching, and development activities.
- Promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in a quality role within manufacturing.
- Demonstrable leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing and developing engineering teams.
- Knowledge of structured New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience using structured quality methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organisational and workload management skills.
- Understanding of people management processes and procedures.
Desirable
- CMI Level 4 or 5 Management qualification.
- CQI Quality qualification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience with PPAP requirements and management.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of measurement techniques and capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
