The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking to join a well-established and growing building services contractor?

We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to support our expanding operations across York and the North West, producing accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of commercial electrical projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality electrical and building services solutions, offering long-term career development and the chance to work on a varied portfolio of projects across the NHS, education, government buildings, offices and industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate electrical estimates and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Produce detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials and subcontractors.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Identify value engineering opportunities to maximise project profitability.
Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal departments throughout the tender process.
Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
Ensure estimates are completed within required timescales.
Assist with handovers to the delivery team following successful tenders.
Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

Experience Required

Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator.
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Experience producing competitive tenders from first principles.
Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) desirable.
Electrical industry background preferred.
Estimating experience within the Building Services or M&E sector.
Full UK Driving Licence.
