SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

London Bridge · hybrid, 3 days in office · Full-time, permanent

£25-30k base + generous commission

ABOUT FIRNEY

Firney is a London-based engineering and data consultancy for marketing: the engineering and data team a marketing function never had. Marketing teams own revenue and lead targets but rarely have engineers who think in conversion, so we're that missing team. We build the websites, search, data pipelines, AI and automation that make marketing perform, and we're a Google Cloud Partner. We're a modern, progressive team of engineers who solve our own problems with the things we build: we don't just sell AI, we run on it every day. We're now hiring a salesperson to join the team.

THE ROLE

You'd work closely with our founders and the engineering team whose work you're selling.

The job is starting conversations. We line up the companies we can genuinely help; you get in touch, keep in touch, and set up meetings. No scripts, no pressure-selling and no blasting out a thousand identical emails: thoughtful messages and reliable follow-up are what make it work, and we'll show you how.

You'd also help run our Google partnership: attending partner events, getting known by Google's partner and sales teams, and turning that relationship into introductions and leads.

It's a good time to join. AI is the most interesting thing happening in tech; we build it for clients and use it everywhere ourselves, so you'll be learning at the sharp end from day one. And you wouldn't be on the edge of the business: sales is how we grow, so you'd be a key part of it, helping shape where we go next.

WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY TO DAY

Work your own book of target accounts. We line up the companies; the ones you take on are yours.
Run multi-step outreach: personalised messages, sent by you, with every follow-up on time.
Book discovery meetings and hand them over well briefed.
Work the Google partnership: partner events, relationships with Google's teams, introductions and referral leads.
Keep the pipeline honest: log every touch, reply and outcome so the numbers always reflect reality.

WHO THIS SUITS

You don't need sales experience and you don't need a tech background. We'll teach you both, properly. We're hiring for the things that can't be taught:

Proactive to a fault. You chase, follow up and get on with things without being asked.
Sharp written English. Most first impressions here are made in writing.
Organised. Lots of small threads, none dropped.
Comfortable talking to strangers, online and in person.
A genuine passion for technology. We sell AI and we run on it every day, so we want

someone who loves this stuff: quick to pick up new tools, creative about finding better ways of doing things.

BONUS POINTS

None of these are required, but tell us if they apply:

You've been a recruiter, or done another high-activity job built on outreach and follow-up.
You've worked in a customer-facing role of any kind.
You already use AI tools day to day, or you've built or tinkered with something technical yourself.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Three months in: you know what we sell, who it's for and how we talk about it, and you're holding real conversations with prospects.
Six months in: meetings are happening steadily, your pipeline is real, and Google's teams know your name.
Twelve to eighteen months in: you own more of the sales process and you're moving towards running your own deals.

WHAT YOU GET

£25-30k base salary plus a generous commission package.
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.
Hybrid working: 3 days a week at our London Bridge office (The News Building), with flexitime (7.5 hours between 8:30 am and 7:00 pm).
3% employer pension contribution.
A learning and development budget, plus proper training on sales and on the technology we sell.
An AI-first way of working: you'll get properly good with tools most companies are still only talking about.
Regular work socials: team events, dinners and activities.
A key seat in a growing business: join the journey early, and the role grows with what you make of it.

PRACTICAL BITS

Full-time, permanent. You'll need the right to work in the UK and to be within commuting distance of London Bridge.
