Housing Support Auditor

About Us

Audit and Inspection Limited specialises in reviewing support documentation and carrying out property inspections across the social housing sector. Our work helps housing providers evidence the support they deliver, improve service quality, and ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Housing Support Auditor to join our Quality Assurance Team.

This role is focused on reviewing housing support documentation and providing detailed written feedback to our partners. You will assess records such as support session notes, support plans, and initial needs assessments to ensure they accurately evidence the support delivered and clearly demonstrate positive outcomes for residents.

You will identify areas where documentation can be strengthened and produce constructive, practical feedback to help support providers improve the quality and consistency of their records.

The documentation relates to residents who may be experiencing challenges such as mental health needs, substance misuse or difficulties managing finances. However, this is not a frontline support role and does not involve direct contact with residents.

This position would suit someone who enjoys analysing written information, maintaining high standards and producing clear, structured written feedback.

Role Details

Location: Office-based, Birmingham City Centre
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

Review housing support documentation, including support session records, support plans, and initial needs assessments
Assess the quality, accuracy, and completeness of documentation
Produce detailed, constructive written feedback identifying strengths and areas for improvement
Support partners in improving recording standards and evidencing outcomes
Identify recurring themes and trends across documentation reviews
Maintain accurate audit records using internal systems
Meet review targets while maintaining a high standard of quality

Main Duties

Conduct quality assurance reviews of support documentation
Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve recording practices
Produce professional, concise, and actionable feedback reports
Accurately record audit outcomes and recommendations
Work independently while managing a structured workload
Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and guidance

About You

Excellent written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess written information objectively
Able to produce clear, structured and constructive written feedback
Well organised and capable of managing deadlines
Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
Able to work independently while maintaining consistent quality

No previous auditing experience is required. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong written communication and analytical skills gained through work, education or other experience. Experience in housing, social care, quality assurance, compliance or report writing would be advantageous but is not essential.
