We’re now on the lookout for a Technical Consultant to Provide technical leadership across one major client engagement or a portfolio of smaller client projects, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, fit‑for‑purpose solutions. Lead and mentor more junior Technical Consultants, fostering strong capability across all GBST product components. Drive best‑practice solution design, promote technical excellence, and ensure alignment with client needs, delivery standards, and organisational objectives.
You’ll be joining a global, diverse team in Sydney and collaborate with client Project Managers and Technical Architects to shape, design, and deliver tailored solutions that meet client requirements and align with best‑practice architectural standards.
What U will do:
Technical Solution
Provide technical leadership across multiple client projects, ensuring coherence, quality, and consistency of solution design throughout all engagements.
Define and drive the overall solution architecture for client projects, including integration with the client’s existing IT ecosystem, while ensuring alignment with and contribution to the broader enterprise architecture.
Secure agreement and endorsement of the solution and integration architecture from all internal and external stakeholders. Assess, validate, and present alternative solution options where appropriate.
Promote a broader understanding of enterprise architecture, technology strategy, and proposed solutions within the client-facing solution team, enhancing architectural awareness and capability.
Provide technical guidance and support to internal product development teams, contributing insights from client implementations to improve product design, quality, and usability.
Lead the technical workstream in preparing responses for the technical components of RFIs and RFPs, providing guidance on solution design using existing product capabilities or required enhancements, including integration with existing client environments.

Actively participate in team meetings, raising issues proactively, sharing knowledge and achievements, and providing guidance, training, and direction to support team development.

Mentor and encourage team members to pursue continuous improvement in solution design and technical architecture, reinforcing best practices and driving technical excellence where applicable
Ensures compliance with GBST policies and standards, and ensures compliance with all local statutory requirements
Complies with all relevant local legislative and regulatory requirements, ensuring that work practices always meet statutory obligations.

Demonstrated capability in designing resilient, high‑performance single‑page applications using HTML5 and modern JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, EmberJS, or ReactJS.
Significant hands‑on experience delivering mission‑critical, highly resilient systems, with a focus on robustness, scalability, and operational stability.

Deep technical expertise in designing and implementing systems using OOAD, SOA, Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, SOAP/RESTful web services (XML/JSON), Spring Security, Spring Boot, and AMQP/RabbitMQ, AWS Lambda, AWS SQS/SNS.
Recent experience of AI usage in application development.
Strong understanding of SaaS solution design and operational considerations within an AWS environment, including scalability, security, multi‑tenancy, observability, and integration with cloud‑native services.
Experience with modern development and DevOps toolchains, including Maven, Git, Bitbucket, Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong awareness of emerging industry trends, technologies, and architectural practices, with the ability to incorporate relevant innovations into solution thinking.
Excellent logical reasoning and analytical problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues effectively.
Strong understanding of SaaS solution design and operational considerations within an AWS environment, including scalability, security, multi‑tenancy, observability, and integration with cloud‑native services.
Experience with modern development and DevOps toolchains, including Maven, Git, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
Strong awareness of emerging industry trends, technologies, and architectural practices, with the ability to incorporate relevant innovations into solution thinking.
