Full job description

Funtivity Play Village is a children's role play and sensory space for babies in Leighton Buzzard. Our village houses different role play rooms such as a Supermarket and Doctors Surgery for children to explore and learn through play along with a dedicated area for babies from birth until they are ready to explore our role play rooms.

Our village allows parents to get involved and play within our role play areas but also allows parents a clear view of the centre so they can sit and have a relaxing coffee while their children play.

Our role play assistant is a fundamental role within the village. You will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of customer service and ensuring a safe environment for children to play and learn. At times our village can be busy and are role play assistants will be required to multi task while remaining calm under pressure. We want our a village to be a fun, relaxed place to work and for people to visit and therefore a good sense of humour and a friendly smile are key.

Hours : Casual basis - roughly 6 -12 hours per week/ 2- 3 days per week. Could be up 25/30 in peak periods if this was something you wanted.

Must be over 18 due to being a key holder.

Our ideal candidate would have weekday and weekend availability however we would consider splitting the role into 2. However we would still require someone over the age of 18 due to being a key holder.

Usually shifts will be between the hours of 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Sunday.

Salary : Pay minimum wage

Interviews - Mid/Late August/September

Start date : August/September can be flexible on earlier/later

Some of the key duties are;

· Booking customers in and out of the village

· Taking customers orders in our café

· Preparing hot drinks and basic meals following all food hygiene standards

· Answering customer phone queries

· Dealing with customer inquires about our village and parties

· Help run/support children’s Birthday parties, interacting with children and parents to ensure all runs smoothly.

· Ensure a clean and tidy environment within the village

· Help create a fun, exciting & safe environment so every guest leaves wanting to return

*Please Note as a busy play cafe recruitment timescales can vary.

While we are not looking for a summer holidays only position but this is a position which could work well for a student on a gap year.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour

Please note due to this role being a potential key holder we are only able to accept applications from anyone aged 18 + for this role.

Unfortunately we are not looking for any seasonal staff at the moment and are unable to consider any applications that are only around for the summer holidays as this is an ongoing role but are able to consider A level leavers on a gap year before University.

A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
