Full job description

Lascar is a market-leading electronics manufacturer based in Salisbury. We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join our busy production department. You will be responsible for performing tests, calibration, inspection of finished products, components, or assemblies for functioning, operation, accuracy, or assembly to verify adherence to functional specifications.

Principal Duties:

To test and inspect all finished products, components, assemblies and sub-assemblies to make sure they are fully functioning, accurate and assembled correctly and in accordance with Build Standard specifications.
To perform Programming and Calibration, to verify functioning of products according to specifications using correct equipment.
To test functional performance of products under specified environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, using testing devices, such as temperature or humidity chamber.
To assemble completed products according to Build Standards using the right equipment, including i.e. power screwdriver, sealing machine.
To be responsible for full and accurate completion of all relevant documentation, in particular but not exclusively with regard to Works Orders and Specials.
To be aware of works order priorities and to ensure that the Production Supervisor is notified promptly of any problems arising, especially with regard to possible lead-time short falls.
Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
To work in a safe and efficient manner at all times and to ensure that all Production Equipment and other machines/plant are operated in accordance with instructions and relevant safety procedures.
To perform additional tasks in the Production Department or elsewhere as directed by the Production Supervisor.
To ensure that the Production Department is clean and tidy, to maintain a neat and professional appearance and to sustain a positive working environment, ensuring full contribution to the team effort at all times.
When required, support other areas of the business when and where the need arises as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.

The following duties/responsibilities only apply to certain designated operators:

To set up and use the solder station and fume extraction.
To set up and use the Gas Station.

Attributes, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
Attention to detail to ensure products meet quality specifications.
Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
Reliable and dependable.
Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous assembly or production experience is beneficial but not essential.
Soldering experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Basic IT skills.

Benefits:

Salary: up to £25,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible start and finish times.

Holidays: starting entitlement of 25 days plus Bank Holidays increasing each year to a maximum of 30 days plus Bank Holidays.

Lascar is a non-smoking/non-vaping company.

Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
