Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pot Wash to join our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to maintain the highest standards of hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitise all pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly after use
Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks and work surfaces
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required
Ensure all items are stored correctly after cleaning to prevent cross-contamination
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to uphold hygiene standards
Support the kitchen team with general cleaning duties during quieter periods
Manage waste disposal efficiently and responsibly

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations is desirable
Experience working in a hospitality setting such as hotels or restaurants is beneficial
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met
Flexibility to work during busy service times and adapt to changing priorities
