Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Tutor to provide personalised academic support to a year 11 male student with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the student in the local library, fostering a positive learning environment tailored to their unique requirements. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the student's educational journey, promoting confidence and independence through specialised teaching methods.

Duties

Deliver personalised tutoring sessions aligned with the student's EHCP.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the student's specific learning needs
Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to parents and relevant professionals
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
Support behavioural development and social skills alongside academic progress
Collaborate with our provision staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistency in approach
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment conducive to learning
Promote confidence and motivation in pupils through positive reinforcement and encouragement

Experience

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally within special education settings
Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges
Strong communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) frameworks and strategies is desirable
Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development are essential qualities for success in this role

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract, Temporary
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour
