Guitar teacher

Pay: Up to £47 per hour, in students' homes
Location: Stanmore and surrounding areas
Venue: Students' homes, or the tutor's studio
Type: Self-employed
Hours: Usually weekdays 4–8pm and weekends from 10am to 2pm

GTB Music School isn't an agency. We're a decentralised music school with a community of 10+ tutors and nearly 200 students in SW Herts and NW London.

We're musician/tutor-run, so we've done and do what you do, we get it, and we want you and your students to love being part of our school, and work with us to build something even bigger and better as long-term partners.

Fair, realistic pay:

Tutor Levels & Pay at GTB Music School

Most tutors start at our Pro level, which pays up to to £47 for a 1 hour lesson in the student's home.

High performing tutors may be promoted to our Proven Tutor after 12 to 24 months, where pay will increase, up to £54 for a 1 hour lesson in the student's home.

Progression at every level is based on performance, experience, qualifications and reliability, and is reviewed periodically.

What we’re looking for

Musical excellence and a genuine interest in teaching – required
Experience with students aged 7+, including adults – required for Pro Tutor+
Reliable, professional and good with parents – required
A degree in music – desired (required to start as Pro Tutor+)
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one) and relevant safeguarding training - required
Available and looking to take on at least two days of work (you can pick your days) on weekdays 4–8pm or weekends – required
Ideally based within 30 minutes of the advertised teaching position, unless you are in the area already – required (please let us know if this is not reflected in your CV)
A car is useful for home lessons, but tutors with a suitable home teaching space are also welcome – desired
