Full job description

Post 1: Wick Road, Knowle and Filwood libraries - 10hrs per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday lunchtimes and Saturday all day, Fixed term contract until 21/12/26.

Post 2: Wick Road, Knowle and Filwood libraries - 10hrs per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday lunchtimes and Saturday all day, Fixed term contract 18 months.

Post 3: Stockwood, Whitchurch and Hartcliffe. 16.6h per week Monday afternoons, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and lunchtimes and Saturday mornings and lunchtime, Fixed term contract Oct 2026 - 30 April 2027.

If so, then we want you to come and join our friendly team. We need customer-focused people to help us run and develop a high-quality service at various Bristol libraries.

The posts are not available for job share and availability for all specified sessions is required. The roles are not suitable for home working or hybrid working, as they are required to be physically present in libraries.

Manual handling, display screen equipment, and other training will be given, to ensure tasks are carried out safely.

Please note that this role is subject to a Standard DBS Check.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
