ABOUT THE ROLE
Ecigone is one of the fastest growing UK based online vape retailers. We have already moved to a custom headless (Shopify Hydrogen) storefront and have a large, data-led SEO and content programme underway. We are looking for a senior SEO Specialist and Content Creator to work alongside the founder and take a big share of the content and SEO workload. This is not a junior role. You should be skilled enough to run things yourself, teach us things, and lighten the load rather than add to it.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
This role is only for people who have already worked on other vape or e-cigarette websites and can prove the results they delivered. Please do not apply without a vape-sector track record. For the right person with that experience, we are open to excellent rates of pay.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
- You will work alongside the founder and take a big share of the content and SEO workload, not just tick off tasks.
- You will work on a live Shopify Hydrogen headless store, keeping it optimised and growing.
- You will use AI (Claude in particular) every day to move at a pace a normal SEO cannot match, across research, analysis, optimisation and content.
- You will have a live, data-led roadmap from day one: keyword-gap maps, a 90-day content plan, cluster trackers and direct GSC data already in place.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Work alongside the founder to run and execute the organic strategy across collections, product pages, blogs, technical and authority.
- Keep the live Hydrogen store optimised: rendering, structured data, internal linking, redirects and technical health.
- Run keyword and gap research (GSC, GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and turn it into a prioritised, no-cannibalisation plan.
- Optimise collections and PDPs in Shopify, including metafields and metaobjects and bulk operations via Matrixify.
- Build and ship structured data (Product, Breadcrumb, FAQ, LocalBusiness, Organization) across the headless store.
- Write genuinely good, human, GSC-led blogs and on-page copy that supports money pages and ranks. Roughly one new piece of content a day.
- Build new collections and category pages from existing stock to capture gap keywords.
- Own local SEO: Google Business Profile, store-locator pages, click and collect, reviews.
- Drive authority growth: digital PR, brand and supplier links, reviews.
- Measure everything: GSC, GA4, Tag Manager, rank tracking, and report on what moved and why.
- Build AI-accelerated workflows so research, analysis and content production scale without losing quality.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
- Previous, hands-on SEO experience working on other vape or e-cigarette websites, with a proven, demonstrable track record. This is a hard requirement. Please do not apply if you have not worked on vape sites before.
- Deep knowledge of the regulated nature of vaping: TPD rules, age-gating, and the advertising restrictions on Google and Meta, and how to grow within them.
- Expert Shopify SEO, including hands-on work with metafields and metaobjects (the data layer behind our headless CMS), collection and PDP structure, and bulk editing (Matrixify or similar).
- Real experience with custom / headless storefronts (Hydrogen, Next.js or similar), including how rendering and indexation work on a headless build.
- Strong technical skills: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, structured data / JSON-LD, Core Web Vitals, and crawl / indexation control.
- Fluent with GSC, GA4 and Google Tag Manager, and able to turn data into action.
- Excellent writer who can produce engaging, keyword-led content in a consistent brand voice, at volume, without it reading like AI filler.
- Advanced, practical experience using Claude and other AI tools to speed up real workflows and content creation. This is essential, not a nice to have.
- Self-directed, organised, and able to run multiple clusters and projects at once.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with Coupler.io, Screaming Frog, or similar data and crawl tooling.
- Digital PR or link-building track record.
- Basic design / image editing for blog and collection assets.
- Social media management experience aligned to SEO goals.
LOCATION
This is a remote role and we would prefer someone based in the UK. We will consider applicants in other countries who have strong, proven, hands-on experience in the UK vape ecommerce sector, with proof.

Pay: £24,420.00-£51,678.18 per year
