Due to the continued expansion of our construction and employability provision across the Bristol area, Partners in Bristol is seeking two Construction Skills & Employability Tutors to join our growing team.

Our programmes combine employability training, construction health and safety, CSCS preparation and practical construction activities. We support learners to become work-ready, confident, and prepared for the expectations of employers across the local construction industry.

About the Role
As a Construction Skills & Employability Tutor, you will plan and deliver engaging training sessions that prepare learners for entry into the construction industry. The role combines classroom teaching, practical skills development, CSCS preparation, health and safety training, coaching, mentoring, assessment, and learner support.
You will work with learners from a range of backgrounds, including adults who are new to construction, returning to work, changing careers or seeking the confidence and qualifications needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further training.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality employability and construction training programmes.
- Deliver construction health and safety training, including preparation for CSCS tests.
- Facilitate safe, practical construction activities that develop learner confidence and work-ready skills.
- Support learners to understand construction career pathways and prepare for employment opportunities.
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records.
- Adapt teaching and support approaches to meet a range of learner needs and abilities.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and encouragement to support attendance, engagement, and achievement.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and behaviour during all classroom and practical activities.
- Work with colleagues, employers, and partners to support learner progression into sustainable employment.
- Contribute to quality improvement, curriculum development and the continued growth of provision across Bristol.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Experience working within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of construction health and safety practices.
- Practical, hands-on construction knowledge that can be shared with learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, supportive, and motivational approach to working with learners.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple learners and sessions effectively.
- A commitment to inclusive learning and supporting people into employment.
- Willingness to work towards teaching and/or assessing qualifications if not already held.
Desirable
- Teaching, tutoring, training, coaching, or assessing experience.
- A recognised teaching, training or assessing qualification.
- Experience delivering employability, work readiness, or vocational training.
- Knowledge of CSCS requirements and entry routes into the construction industry.
- Experience supporting unemployed adults or learners who may face barriers to employment.
- Multi-trade construction experience or experience in practical construction training environments.
