Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods, ensuring timely and efficient shipping and receiving processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a solid understanding of logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimise supply chain efficiency.
Analyse logistics data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate records through data entry and management systems.
Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve any issues related to shipments.
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when liaising with clients and vendors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding logistics operations.

Import & Export Compliance

Manage daily import and export movements for overseas goods to meet operational and project deadlines.
Prepare and maintain import/export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs entries, and proof of export.
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and hauliers to coordinate shipments and resolve customs or transport issues.
Ensure correct use of Incoterms, commodity codes, duties, and VAT treatments.
Maintain accurate records in line with HMRC and audit requirements.
Act as the first point of contact for import/export queries across the business.

Experience & Skills

Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and 3PL operations is advantageous.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
Proficient in data entry with attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on professional phone etiquette.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
