Job Description

Join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced electro-mechanical products from concept through to delivery. You will be responsible for producing high-quality designs, supporting prototype development, and working closely with electrical and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Location: Dorset
On-site Requirement: On Site
Seniority: 7+ Years Experience
Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain BPSS clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using NX.
Generate manufacturing drawings in accordance with BS8888 and GD&T standards.
Perform engineering calculations including stress analysis and tolerance assessments.
Support integration activities with electrical and electronics teams.
Participate in design reviews and technical documentation activities.
Support prototype assembly, testing, and development activities.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Proven experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter to develop and manage mechanical design solutions.
Strong understanding of 3D CAD modelling, detailed engineering drawings, and GD&T principles.
Experience producing drawings to recognised standards such as BS8888 or ASME Y14.5.
Ability to perform engineering calculations including stress analysis and tolerance stack-up assessments.
Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support product development and integration activities.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to produce clear engineering reports and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Ability to collaborate effectively with electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
Practical and hands-on approach to engineering problem solving.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills

Experience supporting electric motor or power conversion product development.
Understanding of ECAD and MCAD integration activities.
Practical machining experience using conventional workshop equipment.
Experience assembling and testing engineering prototypes.
