Accounts Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a varied and hands-on role, working across multiple successful and growing businesses operating primarily within the fire safety sector.

This is a role supporting day-to-day accounting activities across multiple companies. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Process purchase and sales ledger transactions
Perform bank reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Assist with month-end processes
Post journals and maintain the general ledger
Support credit control activities
Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers

Requirements

Experience in an accounts or finance role
Understanding of core accounting principles (debits and credits)
Experience posting journals
Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
High attention to detail
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload independently
Good communication skills

Desirable

Experience with Sage (or similar accounting software)
AAT qualified or currently studying
Experience working across multiple businesses or entities

Role Details

Location: Four Ashes, Wolverhampton

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based

Salary £26,000 – £28,000 (depending on experience)
