Security Officer (Relief)
Location: Based from Cluny Bond, near Kirkcaldy (Fife), with regular travel to other Diageo sites in Shieldhall (Glasgow), Blythswood (Glasgow City Centre), Bonnybridge (Falkirk) and Menstrie (Clackmannanshire)
Pay Rate: £13.95 per hour
Contracted Hours: 42 hours per week
Working Pattern: Flexible shifts covering days, nights and weekends. As a Relief Security Officer, your rota will be issued one month in advance wherever possible, allowing you to plan ahead.
Due to the nature of the role, you'll provide cover across multiple sites for planned holidays, sickness and other absences, so flexibility is essential. Your working pattern will vary depending on operational requirements. For example, you may work five shifts in one week and two shifts the next, while remaining contracted and paid for 42 hours per week.

Business mileage is reimbursed from your main base at Cluny Bond in line with company policy.
Any hours worked in addition to your contracted 42 hours will be paid as overtime, in line with business requirements.
We're looking for a professional, adaptable and customer-focused Relief Security Officer to join our Corporate Services team, providing cover in Kirkcaldy (Fife), with regular travel to other Diageo sites in Shieldhall (Glasgow), Blythswood (Glasgow City Centre), Bonnybridge (Falkirk) and Menstrie (Clackmannanshire). This is a varied role where no two days are the same, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in different environments and thrives on delivering outstanding service.
As a Relief Security Officer, you'll provide security, reception and facilities support, ensuring our clients, colleagues and visitors receive a safe, secure and welcoming experience wherever you're deployed.
What you’ll do:

Providing a professional and visible security presence across multiple client sites.

Travelling to our sites to provide planned and emergency cover as required.

Delivering exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and clients.

Managing access and egress, checking identification and issuing visitor passes and security badges.

Operating reception and handling telephone enquiries professionally.

Carrying out internal and external patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Locking and securing buildings, conducting end-of-day checks and ensuring site integrity.

Responding to incidents, emergencies, fire alarms and first aid situations in accordance with site procedures.

Completing accurate incident reports, documentation and daily logs using company systems.

Supporting Facilities teams with additional duties when required.

Reporting hazards, security concerns and health and safety issues promptly.

Ensuring all visitors and contractors comply with site rules, including PPE requirements.

You'll have:

A valid SIA Security Guard Licence (essential).

Previous experience in a security or customer-facing role.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

A professional, courteous and approachable manner.

Strong IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office, security systems and completing electronic reports accurately.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

The ability to remain calm, make sound decisions and follow procedures under pressure.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload.

A flexible approach and willingness to provide cover across multiple locations, including holidays and sickness.

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

A clear understanding of confidentiality and the importance of handling sensitive information appropriately.
Essential Requirements
Due to the nature of this relief role, applicants must:

Hold a full UK driving licence.

Be willing and able to travel regularly between multiple client sites.
-
Be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes.

Have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of two years.
-
Be eligible to work in the UK and successfully complete all required pre-employment screening and vetting.
