Job Title: Oracle Database Engineer
Location: Christchurch – on site
Salary: Up to £52,500 depending on skills and experience

Core Duties:
- Working across the full development lifecycle, including requirements, design, specification, implementation, and acceptance testing
- The design and implementation/modelling of database tables
- Implementation of database packages using the Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Performance monitoring and enhancement of an Oracle database, monitoring the Oracle website for updates and engaging with Oracle to request patches as well as Horizon scanning for vulnerabilities
- Configuring Windows/Linux/RHEL operating systems
- Creating bespoke applications and automated deployment using PowerShell
Essential Skills:
- You will have proven experience administering Oracle Database 19c in Windows Server environments
- You will understand best practices for user management, roles, and profiles to ensure secure, robust least-privilege access controls
- You will have hands-on experience with Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU) and Patch Set Updates (PSU) including patch assessment, planning and implementing using OPatch
- You will have experience supporting production environments, including incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- You will have systems development lifecycle experience, from design through to testing
- Defence domain knowledge is desirable

This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support – it is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various MoD locations.
