Day in the life of a Qualified Surveyor
As a technical specialist, you will play a key role in the operational delivery and compliance assurance of gas, heating, and communal heat network systems across our property portfolio.
Reporting to the Building Compliance Manager – Gas and Heating, you will:

Ensure gas, heating, and heat network systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements

Plan, conduct, and quality assure statutory inspections, surveys, and remedial works

Oversee gas, central heating, and associated plant, including communal heat networks

Provide expert technical advice and guidance to internal teams and contractors

Maintain accurate, audit-ready compliance records

Identify, manage, and escalate safety or compliance risks appropriately
You will be instrumental in maintaining high compliance standards and supporting safe, reliable services for our customers.
What we are looking for
-
Substantial hands-on experience conducting and overseeing gas and heating inspections across a variety of property types, including high-risk residential buildings and heat network systems

In-depth knowledge of:

Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
-
Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000
-
Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations
-
Relevant building and landlord legislation
-
Familiarity with non-gas and low-carbon heating systems, communal heating, and heat networks within a social housing environment

Recognised technical qualifications in gas engineering, mechanical engineering, building services or surveying (e.g. HNC/HND, BEng/BSc, Gas Safe registration)

Experience working within regulated or high-compliance environments

Experience supporting internal and external audits and regulatory inspections

Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development in gas and heating compliance
