Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in a variety of programming languages and frameworks, with a strong focus on application development, API integration, and cloud-based solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment, contributing to the design and implementation of scalable software systems. The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for technology, problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and optimisation of software applications across multiple platforms, ensuring robustness and scalability.
Design, implement, and maintain APIs to facilitate seamless integration between systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into efficient code solutions.
Develop front-end components using JavaScript and front-end development best practices to enhance user experience.
Utilise version control tools such as GitHub, SVN, and Git for source code management and collaboration.
Write clean, well-documented code in languages including Java, C#, C++, Python, Ruby on Rails, VBA, and C.
Manage database interactions with SQL and MySQL, optimising queries for performance.
Deploy and manage applications within cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, ensuring security and reliability.
Conduct code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain high standards of software quality.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that improve system performance.

Experience

Proven software development experience with a strong portfolio of application projects across diverse programming languages.
Extensive knowledge of front-end development frameworks and tools including JavaScript frameworks.
Hands-on experience with version control systems such as GitHub, SVN, and Git.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure for deploying scalable applications.
Proficiency in working with APIs (RESTful services) and integrating third-party services into existing systems.
Strong understanding of database management systems including SQL Server, MySQL, or similar platforms.
Experience working within Linux environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum is advantageous.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting while managing multiple priorities effectively.
