Senior Internal Recruiter

Three-month fixed-term contract

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per year, pro rata

Work location: Hybrid, with attendance at Mytholmroyd.

Start date: As soon as possible

Six important appointments. Three months. Full ownership of the recruitment process.

Drew Forsyth & Co is a family-owned manufacturer of luxury bespoke kitchens and furniture. We have been manufacturing furniture in West Yorkshire for nearly 60 years and supply customers throughout the UK.

We are currently growing and strengthening our management, operational and support teams. This has created a focused recruitment project covering approximately six appointments across our business.

The vacancies include:

Bookkeeper
Procurement Manager
Spray Department Lead
CNC Operator
Kitchen sales designer
Executive Assistant

We are looking for an experienced recruiter to take ownership of the project and help us find the right people without relying on external recruitment agencies.

The role

You will manage the recruitment process from initial advertising and candidate sourcing through to presenting a strong shortlist and coordinating final interviews.

You will be recruiting for a varied mixture of operational, technical, managerial and office-based positions. We therefore need someone who is equally comfortable speaking with experienced manufacturing operatives, technical specialists and senior professional candidates.

You will have well-developed job descriptions and detailed information about each position. Our directors and departmental leads will be available to help refine the candidate profile, answer technical questions and participate in final interviews.

Once the brief is agreed, however, you will be trusted to take ownership and keep the recruitment process moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing each vacancy with the relevant director or department lead.
Refining job profiles and candidate requirements where necessary.
Writing clear and compelling job advertisements.
Recommending the most appropriate advertising and sourcing strategy for each position.
Managing paid advertising within an agreed budget.
Proactively sourcing and approaching suitable candidates rather than relying entirely on applications.
Searching job boards, CV databases and professional networks.
Reviewing applications and conducting initial telephone or video interviews.
Assessing candidates against the experience, ability and working style required for each role.
Presenting properly qualified shortlists to the internal hiring team.
Coordinating interviews, feedback and candidate communication.
Supporting offer management, references and pre-employment checks.
Maintaining a clear recruitment tracker and providing regular progress updates.
Identifying weak candidate pipelines early and adjusting the search accordingly.
Ensuring every candidate receives professional and timely communication.

This is not a recruitment administration role. We need somebody who can personally source candidates, conduct credible initial interviews and confidently advise us when a search needs to change direction.

The person we are looking for

You will already have strong end-to-end recruitment experience and be capable of working independently from the beginning.

Experience recruiting within manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment would be helpful, but it is not essential. What matters most is evidence that you have successfully filled a mixture of operational and professional vacancies.

You will need to be:

Experienced in managing the complete recruitment process.
Confident recruiting both factory /technical and office positions.
Skilled in direct sourcing and approaching passive candidates.
Able to write job adverts that attract the right applicants.
Comfortable conducting structured telephone and video interviews.
A good judge of ability, attitude and suitability.
Persistent when a vacancy proves difficult to fill.
Highly organised and capable of running several searches simultaneously.
Comfortable working directly with company directors and department leads.
Commercially aware and conscious of advertising costs.
Professional and responsive in all candidate communication.
Available to begin the assignment quickly.

Previous experience working within a recruitment agency would be welcomed, provided you are comfortable moving into an internal role and managing the recruitment process without agency resources.

Working arrangements

This is a full-time, three-month fixed-term contract.

The advertising, sourcing and initial interview stages can be completed remotely. You will need to attend our Mytholmroyd site for in-person interviews and spend enough time with the business to understand the positions and working environment properly.

One of the vacancies is based at our Knutsford site, so 1 travel to Knutsford may also be required for the in-person interviews.

We can offer considerable flexibility over how you organise your working week. We care more about momentum, communication and successful delivery than somebody sitting at the same desk for fixed hours every day.

A discussion about vacancies you have personally filled and the sourcing methods you used.
A practical conversation about how you would approach one of our harder-to-fill positions.
