Power Resources International runs a tantalum mining and refining operation in Rwanda.
We are seeking to augment our workflows and operations across the mining and refining divisions with an AI architecture.
We're hiring our first dedicated engineer to own and extend the internal platform that ties together Claude, SharePoint, Odoo, Microsoft Copilot, and Power Automate into a single operational layer. You'll start as a hands-on solo builder and grow into the lead of a small platform team. This is a build role for someone who wants to architect systems, develop new ideas and grow a team as the internal demand scales.
What you'll do
- Design and build integrations across Claude (Anthropic API), Odoo, SharePoint, and the Microsoft 365 / Power Platform stack — APIs, webhooks, and custom connectors.
- Develop AI-augmented workflows: document processing, financial-data extraction, reporting pipelines, and agentic automations that reduce manual effort across finance and operations.
- Treat data as the master source — build systems where reports and dashboards are generated views over verified data, not hand-maintained artifacts.
- Own the Odoo layer: model configuration, custom modules, and integration with group financial and operational processes.
- Build and maintain Power Automate flows and Copilot configurations for non-technical staff, with attention to governance and access control.
- Establish engineering practices (version control, documentation, a reusable skills/automation catalogue) that the future team will inherit.
- Partner directly with the CEO and CFO to translate operational needs into durable platform capabilities.
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering fundamentals — Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and real comfort with authentication, data modeling, and debugging integrations.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) into production workflows.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem: SharePoint, Power Automate, and Graph API.
- Experience with Odoo (or a comparable ERP) configuration and customization, or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on ERP systems.
- A bias toward verified, source-document-driven design and clean separation between data and presentation.
- Self-direction: you can scope, build, and ship with minimal oversight.
Nice to have
- Experience building internal tooling at a small or scaling company.
- Familiarity with data governance, document taxonomy, or audit/compliance workflows.
- Experience mentoring or an interest in growing into a team-lead role.
Why join
You'll have unusually broad ownership and a direct line to leadership. The mandate is to make a lean organization punch far above its headcount — your work directly shapes how the company scales.
The role is full-time based in Rwanda with a home-base rotation schedule, flights, accommodation and vehicle included.
Pay: £32,120.33-£65,906.19 per year
