Full job description

Company Overview

H G Gladwell & Sons Ltd was established in 1912 and now manufactures and distributes a range of pet food and pet related goods. These products are in bags or boxes, which weigh up to approximately 25 kg.

We are looking for weekend staff to work in our Southam Branch, if you are interested please apply.

Position reports into: Branch Manager

Job Purpose: To work in our Trade and Retail Store providing a professional, efficient and accurate service to our customers, including delivery to some customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sustain and improve sales performance and customer satisfaction relating to the branch
Accurately process orders
Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
Ensure all established procedures are adhered to
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, suppliers, customers and the general public
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.

Duties include but are not exclusive:

Perform selling and customer service activities competently including accepting payments for goods
Communicate and liaise verbally with customers/ suppliers/ visitors/ enquirers/ co-workers and managers.
Efficiently and effectively respond to spoken requests over the phone or in person
Respond clearly and effectively to verbal or written instructions
Maintenance of the hygiene of the branch.
Stock control and replenishment of goods
Van Delivery of goods to local customers

Skills:

Retail experience or customer service experience an advantage
Must be computer literate
Must be numerate and literate as will be working from written instructions
Excellent attention to detail is required as mistakes are costly to rectify
A confident and friendly personality is essential
Ability to work under own initiative is important
Knowledge of Pets and animals would be an advantage
Clean driving record

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
