Housekeeper

Approx. 10–15 Hours Per Week

About Us

The Bell Inn is a family-run, award-winning restaurant, hotel, and events venue nestled in the beautiful village of Horndon-on-the-Hill, Essex. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality in a friendly, supportive, and professional environment.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our team and help maintain the high standards our guests know and love.

The Role

This is a hands-on role involving housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and maintaining cleanliness throughout our guest accommodation and public areas.

You will play an important part in creating a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests.

This is a casual zero-hours role, with approximately 10–15 hours per week typically available, working on a rota basis, including three weekends, so flexibility is important. Typical shifts at weekend 9am-2pm and for weekday shifts 8:00/9:00am – 2:00/3:00pm, depending on business needs.

There may be opportunities for additional hours, particularly during holiday cover and busy periods.

Pay

£10.85–£12.90 per hour, paid in line with National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage eligibility and experience.

Following one month of service, team members are eligible to join our Tronc/tips system, providing an additional earning opportunity.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

Cleaning and preparing hotel guest rooms to a high standard
Changing bed linen, making beds, and replenishing towels and guest amenities
Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, bedrooms, and communal areas
Laundry and ironing duties
Cleaning public spaces within the hotel, restaurant, and pub as required
Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and polishing surfaces
Restocking cleaning and guest supplies
Reporting maintenance issues or damages promptly
Following health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment

Flexible and able to work weekends on a rota basis
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred, but not essential, as full training can be provided
