About the Role:

Leicester is becoming a growing hub for digital innovation, and at Programs House Technologies Ltd, we are building modern, scalable software products that combine strong engineering with clean, user-focused design.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) who can take ownership of complex features across both frontend and backend systems. This is not just a coding role—you will be responsible for shaping architecture, improving system performance, and delivering high-quality production software used in real-world applications.

You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to turn ideas into reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems. You will also play a key role in mentoring developers and improving engineering standards across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Full Stack Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.

System Architecture: Contribute to architectural decisions, helping design systems that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

API Development: Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and backend services.

Frontend Engineering: Develop responsive, performant user interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks.

Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and help maintain high engineering standards across the team.

Performance & Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and improve application speed, scalability, and reliability.

Collaboration: Work closely with product and design teams to deliver well-integrated features.

Mentorship: Support junior and mid-level engineers through guidance, reviews, and best practices.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: 5+ years in full stack development with strong exposure to both frontend and backend systems.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

Backend Knowledge: Experience building APIs and working with databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

System Understanding: Solid grasp of scalable architecture, performance optimization, and clean system design.

Cloud Exposure: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) is highly desirable.

Mindset: You are practical, detail-oriented, and understand when to balance speed with long-term quality.

Communication: Able to explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: £55,498.25-£80,381.78 per year
