About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Java / Python / .NET / Cloud) who can take technical ownership of key development projects. This is not just a coding role—you will help shape architecture, improve system performance, and guide technical decisions across the team. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions used in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Architecture: Design and develop scalable backend systems, APIs, and cloud-based solutions that support business-critical applications.

Full Lifecycle Development: Take ownership of development from planning and design through to deployment and ongoing optimisation.

Technical Leadership: Support and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, helping raise code quality and engineering standards across the team.

Cloud & DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps processes, supporting CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure).

Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in commercial environments.

Technical Skills: Strong experience with at least one backend language (Java, Python, .NET, Node.js) and solid understanding of software architecture principles.

Cloud Knowledge: Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and familiarity with modern cloud-based architectures.

Databases & APIs: Strong understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

Engineering Mindset: You understand trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability, and can make pragmatic technical decisions.

Communication: Able to clearly explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: £73,255.84-£98,138.66 per year
