Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Who are Garsons?

Founded in 1871, today Garsons is an award-winning destination Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant with locations in Esher, Surrey and Titchfield, Hampshire. Garsons Esher is also home to one of the UK's largest pick-your-own farms.

What does the role involve?

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen and back-of-house operations run smoothly and efficiently while meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the correct use, safe handling and security of all equipment used within the Kitchen.
Assist the Head Chef to ensure standards are consistently met.
Washing of dishes and the provision of required equipment to the Kitchen and Front of House.
Maintenance of a neat and hygienic dish washing area at all times.
Alignment to Company and Statutory Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
Attend any training that has been set up to aid your personal development.
Take responsibility for the upkeep of the kitchen equipment e.g. turning off and cleaning dishwashers.

What skills and experience do you need?

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Have a flexible approach to working shift patterns.

Contract: This is a permanent, full-time role.

Hours: Working hours and shift pattern to be confirmed via a rota-basis. Will include weekend working. Approximately 40 hours per week.
