The opportunity:
We are looking for a talented and driven Business Systems Specialist to join our IT team.
Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be the primary owner and subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (formerly Navision), ensuring the platform is effectively supported, continuously improved and aligned with business needs.
This is a hands on role that combines technical expertise, business process improvement and project delivery. You'll work closely with teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial functions to optimise how our ERP system supports the business, whilst helping to shape and deliver future enhancements, integrations and technology improvements.
Working alongside our Systems Application Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining a resilient and effective systems landscape, with approximately 80% of your focus dedicated to Business Central/Nav and 20% supporting the wider applications environment.
What are key duties of the role?
ERP Ownership & Support
Act as the primary SME for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Navision).
Manage the day-to-day performance, support and continuous improvement of the ERP platform.
Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure systems effectively support operational requirements.
Systems Development & Improvement
Lead the delivery of ERP enhancements, upgrades, integrations and change initiatives.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and automate manual activities.
Analyse business requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
Support testing, deployment and user adoption of new functionality.
Project Delivery
Manage and coordinate system-related projects from requirements gathering through to implementation.
Work alongside third-party partners, developers and software vendors to deliver successful outcomes.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned to business priorities.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong working relationships with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams.
Act as a trusted advisor on ERP capabilities and best practice.
Provide guidance, training and support to system users where required.
What we need you to bring to the team:
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and/or Microsoft Navision.
Experience supporting and improving ERP systems within a commercial environment.
Strong understanding of business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Logistics.
Experience delivering ERP projects, upgrades, integrations or system enhancements.
Ability to analyse complex business requirements and develop effective solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working with third-party software providers and technical partners.
Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, APIs or integrations would be advantageous.
