Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets.
- Develop and maintain statistical models and forecasting methods.
- Interpret data and identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualisations using analytical tools.
- Work with internal teams to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytical processes.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in statistical analysis, data analysis, or business analytics.
- Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and data modelling.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with predictive analytics or machine learning.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Apply natural language processing techniques to interpret unstructured text data for various applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Automate data processing workflows using Bash (Unix shell) scripting and VBA where applicable.
- Present findings through comprehensive reports and visualisations to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and analytics to continuously improve analytical capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data analysis or a related role within a commercial environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C, or VBA.
- Strong knowledge of big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and AI applications such as natural language processing.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and database design principles.
- Knowledge of data mining techniques and statistical modelling methods using SAS or similar tools.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights clearly through reports and visualisations.
- Demonstrated understanding of Unix/Linux environments with Bash scripting skills preferred.
- A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline is highly desirable.
