Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Website Developer to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Develop, test, and maintain websites and web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue.js, and jQuery.
- Design intuitive user interfaces (UI) with a focus on user experience (UX) principles and responsive web design to ensure optimal performance across devices.
- Implement server-side logic and integrations using frameworks such as Django, Spring Framework, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and PHP.
- Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, SQLite, and utilise SQL for data manipulation and optimisation.
- Build and deploy applications within cloud environments like AWS and Azure; configure CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Utilise containerisation tools such as Docker and Ansible for environment consistency; employ version control systems like Git or SVN for code management.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and Web services (SOAP & GraphQL) to facilitate seamless data exchange between systems.
- Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality; utilise tools like Visual Studio or WebStorm for development tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using project management tools such as Jira or Trello; participate in wireframing and prototyping for new features.
- Maintain website security standards; optimise SEO strategies; perform performance tuning for fast load times.
- Contribute to system architecture planning; support application deployment on Tomcat servers or similar platforms.
Requirements
- Proven experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), Bootstrap, AJAX, Redux.
- Strong back-end development skills with knowledge of PHP, Python (Django), C# (.NET), Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB or SQLite; proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; understanding of DevOps practices including Jenkins automation and Ansible configuration.
- Knowledge of system architecture principles; experience deploying applications on Tomcat or similar web servers.
- Ability to develop responsive websites that adhere to modern web design standards; understanding of SEO best practices.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as GitHub or SVN; familiarity with SDLC methodologies including Agile or Scrum.
- Strong problem-solving skills; excellent organisational abilities; capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science or related fields are desirable but not essential if complemented by demonstrable experience.
