Join Reach Digital as a Senior Full Stack Developer and take ownership of work that's genuinely varied and rewarding. At the heart of your role, you'll transform thoughtfully crafted Figma designs into beautifully built, bespoke WordPress websites powered by our cutting-edge, in-house block-based theme.
But your impact won't stop at site builds. You'll dig into backend logic to engineer custom WordPress plugins tailored to each client's unique requirements. And as our technology stack continues to grow, you'll help shape the future of our expanding portfolio of modern web applications built with Laravel, React, and Next.js.
We'll also trust you to be a direct point of contact for our clients, translating complex technical concepts into clear, plain English and helping turn their vision into reality.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building standout websites: Turning high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, fully responsive web experiences.
- WordPress engineering: Developing sites with our in-house block theme and building custom plugins from the ground up.
- Modern app development: Maintaining and expanding our growing roster of Laravel, React, and Next.js projects.
- Client collaboration: Serving as a trusted technical voice for Reach Digital, gathering requirements, presenting solutions, and building lasting client relationships.
- Problem solving: Squashing bugs, optimizing performance, and delivering a seamless experience across every device.
What You'll Bring (The Essentials)
To thrive in this role, you'll have a strong foundation across both front-end and back-end technologies:
- Core languages: Confident working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- WordPress expertise: Deep familiarity with the WordPress ecosystem, themes, architecture, and backend development.
- Design translation: A sharp, detail-oriented eye for bringing Figma designs to life as responsive, interactive elements.
- Modern workflows: Hands-on experience with modern build tools (such as Vite) and CSS preprocessors (such as Sass).
- Database management: Solid working knowledge of relational databases, particularly MySQL and SQLite.
- Version control: Strong proficiency with Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients.
- Analytical mindset: Strong troubleshooting instincts and a logical, methodical approach to debugging.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
We don't expect you to tick every box, but experience in any of the following will strengthen your application:
- Modern PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel.
- Modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries, especially React and Next.js.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript.
- Building custom WordPress plugins entirely from scratch.
- Building, securing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Semantic HTML and foundational technical SEO best practices.
- Modern deployment tools and server workflows.
- Familiarity with Photoshop.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
