Department description

The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams' aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.
The Software Development function creates and maintains applications, frameworks and other software components to deliver to business requirements. Developers conceive, specify, design, engineer, document, test, and deliver bug fixes as needed to provide high quality software solutions. Each Development team is aligned to one of Marex's business divisions and works with a corresponding Business Technology and Application Support team.
Role Summary
As a Full-stack Software Engineer specializing in both front-end and back-end development, experienced in React or C# .NET, you will be a key member of our Prime Services Software Development team, contributing to the creation and enhancement of secure, responsive web applications and services tailored for front-to-back trading technology.
Your coding expertise, alignment to agile principles, and your strong emphasis on quality will be instrumental in delivering robust and reliable applications, including greenfield, re-platforming and migration to (AWS) cloud. In this role, you will also work closely with the platform engineering team to ensure seamless integration and deployment, and QA to deliver an automation-first and shift-left approach to quality control. You will support and advocate for the Marex Agentic AI augmented development strategy, and also be encouraged to join Marex technology guilds, participate in solution design and technology reviews, and to act as scrum master when needed.
Responsibilities
Role specific:
- Code across all proprietary applications and services that constitute the Marex Prime Services (Capital Markets) technology platform.

Take accountability for the quality of your deliverables, take an automation first approach to quality control, adhere to coding standards and participate in peer reviews and pull requests.

Work with platform engineering to automate build and deploy of existing and new systems.

Align with Marex delivery process and agile principles, engage in scrum ceremonies and contribute to estimation and scheduling, and resolving impediments.

Work collaboratively within scrum team, and more widely within the technology function.
