Invertek Drives is a fast-growing global organisation dedicated to the design and manufacture of market leading Variable Frequency Drives used in a wide variety of industrial applications.

Based at our global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Welshpool, we are looking to expand the IT Team.

Job Title:

Junior Systems Developer

Job Purpose:

The Junior Systems Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of bespoke software applications across the business.

Working under the technical guidance of the Senior Systems Developer, the role will involve assisting with ERP system enhancements, developing new tools to improve operational efficiency, and supporting integration between business systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies within a manufacturing and ERP-driven environment.

Reporting Structure:

Reports functionally (day-to-day) to: Senior Systems Developer

Reports organisationally to: IT Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development, testing, deployment, and support of bespoke software applications
Support ongoing development and enhancement of ERP systems (e.g. Sage 200)
Work with users across departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Develop integrations between systems (ERP, databases, and third-party applications)
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Assist with troubleshooting software issues and debugging existing applications
Support testing activities including UAT and defect resolution
Contribute to process automation initiatives to improve business efficiency
Maintain documentation for internally developed systems and processes
Follow IT development standards, version control processes, and change management procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript)
Basic understanding of databases (SQL Server or similar)
Awareness of software development lifecycle practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills with the ability to engage with non-technical users
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience (Not Essential):

Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Sage 200 or similar)
Experience using version control tools (e.g. Git)
Understanding of system integrations and data flows
Awareness of business processes within a manufacturing environment
