About Us
Ritelite (Systems) Ltd is a UK-based manufacturing group with operations spanning multiple UK subsidiaries, a Dutch entity, and a US Inc. We design, manufacture and distribute specialist electrical and battery-based products, with sister businesses covering fabrication, export, and utilities. With 50+ employees and a clear growth trajectory, we are now investing in the systems and infrastructure to support the next phase of the group.
Role Purpose
We are undertaking a major systems transformation. Odoo 19 Enterprise is currently in UAT/testing as our intended core ERP platform, and we are looking for an IT & Systems Manager to take this through to go-live and beyond, alongside owning the wider IT and business systems landscape across the group.
This is not purely an implementation role. We need someone who can configure, customise AND develop Odoo and adjacent systems to fit how we actually operate, rather than reshape the business around out-of-the-box functionality. Custom module development, bespoke integrations, and SQL-driven reporting will all sit within this role.
Equally important, Odoo is one workstream among many. The right person will take ownership of our existing systems, infrastructure, product-facing software, and third-party integrations, providing strong, pragmatic IT leadership across the group. You will work in close day-to-day partnership with the Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Odoo ERP – Configuration, Customisation & Development
- Take Odoo 18 Enterprise from current UAT phase through to go-live and beyond
- Configure and optimise Odoo modules across Accounting, Manufacturing/MRP, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, and CRM
- Develop custom Odoo modules in Python and XML where standard functionality does not fit our operations
- Design workflows, business rules, and reporting tailored to the group's multi-company structure
- Oversee data migration from existing systems (Sage 50 and in-house tools)
- Build and maintain integrations between Odoo and other business systems via APIs
- Ensure the ERP is audit-ready, well-documented, and properly controlled
- Drive continuous improvement post go-live
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Take ownership of the group's full application portfolio, infrastructure, and IT operations
- Develop and maintain an IT roadmap aligned to business growth and control requirements
- Bridge technology and business, shaping systems around user needs and long-term objectives
- Ensure appropriate cyber security, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery arrangements
- Play a key role in shaping our growing hardware and product technology capability from an IT and systems perspective
- Liaise with and manage third-party developers, consultants, and software vendors
Finance & Operations Systems
- Act as the key IT partner to the finance and operations teams
- Ensure ERP configuration supports month-end, year-end, and audit requirements
- Improve management reporting and data visibility through effective system use
- Support process standardisation and automation across the group
Custom Development, Integration & Automation
- Evaluate and deliver bespoke integrations and custom applications where these could meaningfully improve business processes
- Write and manage SQL for data extraction, reporting, and integration
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across workflow, data, and communication
- Integrate ERP and operational systems with third-party platforms via APIs
IT Operations & Support
- Oversee day-to-day IT support across the group
- Manage IT infrastructure including virtual servers, network storage, and firewalls
- Support the IT requirements of product-facing applications, including mobile apps and embedded systems used within our product range
- Support bespoke systems used in production, CRM, and logistics
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and support procedures
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in an IT Manager, Systems Manager, ERP Manager, or senior IT/systems role, ideally in manufacturing or a similar industry
- Demonstrable experience leading or playing a senior role in SME ERP implementations
- Genuine development capability, able to write code, not just configure software
- Strong technical knowledge of networking, security, and system administration
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on technical levels
- Strong communication skills, able to work with technical specialists and non-technical end users
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver pragmatic solutions in a busy SME environment
Desirable
- Odoo configuration AND development experience; Python, XML, APIs, custom modules, workflows, reporting (significantly preferred)
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, stock control, or stock-intensive businesses
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SQL, and collaboration tools
- Experience with APIs, data integration, and system automation
- Familiarity with mobile app infrastructure (iOS, Android, app stores, cloud backends)
- Basic understanding of embedded systems, firmware, or connected devices
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience managing third-party developers, consultants, or software suppliers
The Person
You will be practical, proactive, and able to take ownership of systems across the business. You should be comfortable speaking with end users, understanding operational problems, and translating those needs into reliable system improvements. You do not need to be an expert in every area, but you must have a strong technical foundation and the confidence to learn, investigate, and deliver.
- Commercially aware and control-focused
- Practical, delivery-oriented, and solutions-driven
- Confident working with owner-directors and senior stakeholders
- Genuine interest in emerging technologies and continuous professional development
- Comfortable owning systems and being accountable for outcomes
- Ambitious and future-focused, ready to grow into broader IT leadership responsibilities
- Thrives in an SME environment; resourceful, hands-on, and pragmatic
