Following a sustained period of expansion and a further year of achievement we are seeking an experienced Technical SEO Specialist to lead the technical optimisations for our portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical SEO issues that impact search visibility, crawlability, indexation, site performance, and organic growth.
Embedded within our SEO, Content, and PR department, you will focus on developing and implementing technical SEO strategies that drive measurable improvements in search engine performance and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits across websites and digital platforms.
- Analyse crawlability, indexation, rendering, and site architecture issues.
- Monitor and optimise Core Web Vitals and website performance metrics.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to: XML sitemaps, Robots.txt files, Canonicalisation, Redirect management, Structured data/schema markup, Internal linking, Duplicate content and International SEO (hreflang)
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure SEO best practices are incorporated into website builds and releases.
- Perform log file analysis to understand search engine crawling behaviour.
- Manage website migrations, domain changes, and platform transitions while preserving organic traffic.
- Develop technical SEO recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
- Beyond diagnostics and issue resolution, identify opportunities for improvement and drive the successful implementation of these strategies.
- Monitor website health using SEO and analytics platforms.
- Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Produce clear reports and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
- In an evolving search landscape, you will be instrumental in crafting advanced strategies that transcend conventional methods, ensuring client dominance in AI-driven search environments via Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), entity-centric frameworks, and next-generation search innovations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Technical SEO.
- Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, and index websites.
- Advanced knowledge of: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog SEO Spider, Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar SEO platforms.
- Experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and website CMS platforms.
- Knowledge of Core Web Vitals and website performance optimisation.
- Experience implementing structured data and schema markup.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret large data sets and communicate technical findings effectively.
- Experience managing technical SEO projects and collaborating with development teams.
- Confidence in communicating technical issues and strategies in easily-digestible language.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with enterprise-level websites.
- Knowledge of server-side technologies and hosting environments.
- Experience with log file analysis tools.
- Understanding of ecommerce SEO and large-scale website architectures.
- Agency experience is advantageous.
