Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our family owned and run, play cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for cafe service, barista trained and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise within a dynamic setting, ensuring high standards of food safety, customer satisfaction, and team performance. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a background in restaurant or hospitality management.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during shifts to ensure smooth service delivery.
Oversee food preparation, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of operation.
Must be barista trained to a high level
Maintain organisation of the kitchen and service areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety protocols are adhered to.
Support the management team in implementing operational policies and procedures.

Experience

Proven experience in a cafe role with barista exprience
Supervising experience with a focus on team management in hospitality settings.
knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes..
Skills in serving, hospitality, and barista duties are advantageous but not essential.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.

This is a part time role covering 3 shifts a week. Thursday & Friday 9.30-3pm and Sundays 9.45-1pm. There may be times we can offer you extra shifts for birthday parties, staff holiday and sickness etc This is a key holder role so you MUST be reliable and dependable. You must have high standards of cleanliness and very good communication.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
