This is a dual role which involves IT Development of web based in-house systems and IT Systems Support, supporting existing Windows desktop infrastructure and implementation of information security measures.
Responsibilities:
IT Developer
- Assist in systems development and maintenance activities in several languages (PHP, Javascript, Java, XML etc)
- Assisting with database management and maintenance activities (MySQL, SQLite etc)
IT Systems Support
- Deploying new equipment installations, configuring platforms and software to recognised standards under direction, and ensuring software licence compliance. (Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Android)
- Network support to maintain the existing infrastructure to recognised standards, by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures.
- Development of Information Security compliance measures and documentation (Cyber Security Essentials, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software.
- To provide at all times a professional, courteous and rapid response to support individual network users.
Other duties
- To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participating in appropriate training activities.
- To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

Person Specification
- Strong technical and analytical skills in line with those identified in ‘Skills profile / experience’ section below.
- Solid experience in problem analysis and resolution of hardware and software problems.
- The ability to function in a self-directed environment.

Skills / experience
- IT Qualifications – Computer Science, Software Development, Online Computer Degree, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Good knowledge of traditional web and mobile development languages (PHP, Javascript, Java, XML)
- Knowledge and experience of SQL and management tools (MySQL, SQLite and PHPMyAdmin desirable)
- Practical IT Support experience, ideally gained within a technical support/help desk environment role.
- Experience and understanding of the Windows 10/11 desktop environments, Microsoft 365 products and administration.
- A track record of interest in IT, demonstrated via qualifications and outside endeavors.
- Ideally been educated to A-level / HND / Equivalent level, with a specific relevant IT qualification.
- A good personality, the ability to work well within a team, be self-motivated and have strong literacy skills.
