Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing engaging, user-friendly websites that align with our brand identity and business goals. This role involves working closely with developers, content creators, and marketing teams to deliver visually appealing and highly functional digital experiences. The successful applicant will utilise a broad range of skills in digital design, interaction design, and front-end development to craft responsive and accessible websites that meet user needs and optimise performance.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative website layouts and visual designs using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD) and prototyping software like Figma, InVision, Balsamiq, and Axure.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design concepts effectively.
Implement responsive web designs using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript, any frameworks such as React, Angular.
Conduct user research and usability testing to enhance user experience (UX) and information architecture.
Optimise websites for search engines (SEO) and ensure compatibility across various browsers and devices.
Maintain existing websites by performing updates, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new features using content management systems like WordPress or Drupal.
Collaborate with developers to translate designs into functional websites while ensuring adherence to best practices in front-end development.
Analyse website data using Google Analytics or similar tools to inform design improvements and optimise user engagement.
Stay current with industry trends in web design, UX/UI principles, accessibility standards, and emerging technologies such as AJAX, PHP,SQL databases (MySQL), and version control systems like Git.

Qualifications

Proven experience in digital design with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI/UX design for websites.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including Less/SCSS), JavaScript ( frameworks like React or Angular), PHP, Python or Node.js is desirable.
Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver), Adobe XD, InDesign, After Effects, Acrobat; as well as Figma or InVision for prototyping.
Experience working with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
Familiarity with responsive web design principles to ensure websites function seamlessly across all devices.
Strong understanding of SEO best practices and website optimisation techniques.
Knowledge of usability testing methodologies and information architecture principles.
Ability to conduct user research and analyse data using tools like Google Analytics or Mailchimp for email marketing campaigns.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a creative professional eager to develop innovative digital solutions within a collaborative team environment.
