The Role — Junior Developer
Reporting directly to the Data Analyst, you’ll support the development, optimisation, and integration of internal systems, databases, and automation tools across the business.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with multiple departments to understand their needs and develop solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and user experience.
You’ll also play an active role in supporting the business’s approach to governance through the development of smart tools, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with the setup, maintenance, and optimisation of company databases
- Developing internal tools to streamline business operations and improve productivity
- Building user-friendly applications and interfaces for internal stakeholders
- Supporting the rollout and continuous improvement of automated systems
- Working cross-functionally to understand and scope business requirements
- Designing and implementing AI and automation solutions to reduce manual workload
- Managing integrations between systems using APIs and webhooks
- Monitoring and improving data quality and consistency across systems
- Supporting governance and operational efficiency through smart technology solutions
- Staying up to date with developments in technology and AI to drive innovation
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and integration of internal systems and applications
- Ensure database integrity, performance, and uptime
- Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
- Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to the design and deployment of automation and AI initiatives
- Maintain high standards of data quality, governance, and reporting accuracy
- Work alongside the IT Manager to optimise systems and processes
- Ensure all development work aligns with security and compliance standards
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience with AI tools such as Anthropic Claude, prompting with context, and integration with other applications and platforms.
- Strong interest in software development, data, and automation
- Basic experience with databases and data management
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, and system connectivity
- Ability to problem solve and think logically
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across departments
- Proactive approach to learning and improving technical skills
Desirable
- Experience with hyperscaler environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience developing internal tools or business applications
- Exposure to AI, automation platforms, or low-code/no-code tools
- Understanding of data governance and reporting principles
- Experience working within a regulated or financial services environment

Pay: £26,500.00 per year
