In your new role, you’ll be working within a feature team to engineer software, scripts and tools, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.
You’ll also be:
- Producing complex and critical software rapidly and of high quality which adds value to the business
- Working in permanent teams who are responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
- Collaborating to optimise our software engineering capability
- Designing, producing, testing and implementing our working software solutions
- Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment and operations
We’re looking for someone to join our high performance engineering team building our new real time banking platform. You’ll bring experience of working with Continuous Deployment practices in production environments. You’ll have experience building user interfaces using React and working within cloud native environments, with an appreciation for automation as a core engineering principle.
You’ll be comfortable contributing to the development of robust and reliable software, working as part of a team to deliver high quality frontend experiences. Exposure to agentic coding practices where it adds value, would be hugely beneficial
You'll also need:
- Experience building responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript, including working with shared component libraries and using feature flags to support safe and incremental releases
- Awareness of accessibility and performance considerations, with some experience of applying WCAG standards and optimising frontend performance such as rendering patterns, lazy loading and state management
- Experience or exposure to building Backend for Frontend (BFF) services using Node.js such as Next.js, with an understanding of API and microservice design principles
- The ability to work effectively in a team that values autonomy and empowerment, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes
- Willingness to learn and develop, including supporting and learning from others within the team
